Ariti Kaziris

Events and Member Relations Coordinator for Eventsy

From an interview 10/09/2014

"My name is Ariti Kaziris. I am 23 years old and like most New York women in their 20’s, I am in love with fashion. I love the art of creating designs, the hustle and bustle behind the scenes at a runway show, and everything in between.
I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and am the Events and Member Relations Coordinator for Eventsy. I interned for 2013 Greek American Fashion Week last Fall and was able to witness just what goes into planning and putting together a full on fashion show. I enjoy older styles of art and would live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art if allowed.
I believe fashion is an art in itself, and it stretches way past simply dressing yourself. You are speaking for yourself without words everyday that you get dressed. Fashion is a canvas for your soul, and what better gallery than NYC? New York City is considered one of the fashion capitals of the world and I consider myself very lucky to be in such a wonderful city. We all should! New York is the greatest city in the world. Inspiration is on every corner of every street, especially on our beloved 5th Avenue. I love how fashion can make you feel empowered, and I truly believe that when you feel good you do good.
Getting dressed is something you do everyday, so everyday is an opportunity to present yourself the way you want the world to see you. Fashion in the Young Professionals world is incredibly important. The way you dress not only gives off a vibe of who you are personally, but it gives off a vibe of who you are professionally. I am a firm believer in freedom of expression, but there is a time and place for many trends. The office setting is not always one of them. Now, I’m not saying that we have to all go out and buy Chanel tweed suits for each day of the week to succeed in the corporate world, but I’m sure you get the gist. Althought I do love myself a Chanel ANTHING, looking professional doesn’t mean you have to be late on this month’s rent. Staying within your budget is very important.
Learning what trends and styles make you feel good is also key, as well as what fits the criteria for your work setting. I am here to provide you insight on fashion in the Young Professional’s world, as well as trends outside the office."
