ADVISORY VIDEOS

Instructional Design Presentation (St. John’s University Spring 2021)

  • Our CEO was recruited to prepare a special presentation, “Mentoring & Instruction During the Pandemic,” at St. John’s University Center for Teaching & Learning. Below is the summarized digital version of the work presented at this annual campus forum. It provides a comprehensive overview of the transitional challenges teachers and students have faced since January 2020 and offers some positive feedback about successful institutional pivots (with Philo4Thought as a small-scale model of best practices for a successful transition/pivot).

  • Advanced Research/Predictions for Online & Hybrid Instruction  — Extensive research on this topic was conducted and presented in April 2019 at the American Philosophical Association; it’s this body of research that enabled the team to seek out strategic partners and find creative means to keep our programming fresh and available to the community.

  • Recognition. Of course Philo4Thought could not have made this vision into a reality without the support of our volunteers, resident advisors, strategic partners, guest lecturers and fellow philanthropists. We’re so blessed to have your support!

WALK THE WALK!

Dear Viewers & Readers,

As members of the Philo4Thought Family we would like to take this time to remind you that our team is committed to connecting you with the resources and services you need to pull through your current career and work-life challenges. Our goal is to educate, inspire and empower our readers.

Over the past year, the pandemic has had a profound impact on individuals, families, and the greater Hellenic community. During this time, we have been called upon to exhibit an unprecedented degree of perseverance and resilience in the face of numerous challenges, to adapt to the new norm in inspiring ways, and to help others move forward along with us.

While we cannot fail to recognize the ongoing effects of the pandemic as the world continues to grapple with staggering COVID-19 cases, critical resource shortages and more, we extend our empathy and support to students, young professionals and their families. As a global community, the pandemic has affected us all. We stand with our brothers and sisters in North America, Europe, Asia and other regions confronting this crisis head on. We are here for you.

To students and young pros experiencing distress that are affecting your academic and professional performance, please reach out to us and we will help you connect with the necessary counseling, mentoring and support.

On a more positive note, our team is thrilled to be celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2021 and wish them success as they spread their wings to pursue new ventures in work and in life. We invite you to connect with us as you seek out new professional opportunities, graduate program advisement and more.

Sincerely,

Prof. Chris Salboudis
