August 2021

EDITOR'S NOTE

KALO MINA! WELCOME BACK!

August 2021 lends us all a very special infusion of hope as the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics unfold. This month’s edition of HYPLife includes a special combination of HYP Bios, namely all the Greek American athletes who are living up to their potential and embracing their national and cultural pride as professional athletes and more. Many have overcome remarkable strife. We invite you to join in reading this month’s issue of #HYPLife to learn more about them! We’ve also included several videos and articles about the 2020, 2012 and 2004 Olympics, which we hope you’ll take the time to enjoy.

As the race to the finish line proceeds for those competing in the Olympics, we also would like to post this friendly reminder that our Fall Internship Application Period is ending soon. Additional information about the available internships, upcoming events and ongoing mentoring opportunities are available below. As always, our goal is to educate, inspire and empower our readers and viewers!

Mindfulness Tips

  • RECONNECTING WITH VALUES & ROOTS: The 2020 games are a great opportunity to reconnect with your cultural and national pride, to root for your favorite team and forget some of your daily cares.
  • MAKING OF A CHAMPION: Champions have a keen awareness of their values, priorities and potential, but they also tend to love the sport they’ve mastered. It’s the combination of love and dedication to mastery that make a person into a champion.
  • RECOGNIZING OPPORTUNITY: Opportunity is not something that magically lands on your doorstep. Be attentive and seek out opportunities to learn, grow and thrive!
